Race - September 19-20, 2009

The Huntington Bicycle Challenge is a two-day event sanctioned by USA Cycling and sponsored by Three Rivers Velo Sport. The event is held in Huntington County, Indiana.
The course has both on- and off-road portions. Riders must use the same bike frame for the entire course, but may switch wheels/tires if desired. In case of rain, the race will be on-road only.
The course is 140 miles, approximately 70 miles each day. The race begins and ends at Jefferson & Market streets (401 N. Jefferson) in downtown Huntington. Orange Dan Henries mark the route for Saturday; yellow DHs mark the route for Sunday. (See maps)
Registration opens at 8 AM, Saturday at 401 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750. A mandatory racers' meeting is at 8:45 AM. The race begins at 9 AM. All racers must be off the course by 4 PM.
Stop-and-Go (SAG) stations will be set up at various sites along the course. At these stations, racers will be allowed to have food and water handed to them by teammates or family members. Hand-offs are not allowed at any spot along the race course.
The entry fee is $55, or $60 after September 1. Entry fee includes an official Huntington Bicycle Challenge t-shirt.
Licenses are required and available at registration for a fee. USA Cycling rules apply. All racers must wear appropriate helmets.
